Yes, please keep us in the loop!

I'll keep you in the loop, not sure if the Hospital has WiFi, but we have the Verizon Netbook, that has it's own hotspot, so we get internet anywhere. But I don't think it will be tonight, I'm contracting a lot, but very little pain.... How sad is it that I am wishing for pain? Hey Rachel, how's shane doing?

I wish for pain, too...I know exactly what you mean.

I'm two days overdue now. Saw the dr today and I'm still 1cm just like I've been for two weeks! Caroline is still high and needs to settle into the pelvis. I'm just going to have to walk more and use exercise ball more.

SOOOO, the plan is: next dr appt is next Friday, and if I've not gone into spontaneous labor (which is my best chance for a successful VBAC), then he will induce on the following M, T, or W (16th, 17th or 18th)...our choice. Surely to gracious I will go into labor before that!

Pray for us, ladies! Please!

Will be praying you can avoid an induction- Many c-sections result from those. If its pain your after (as well as labor) ask if your Doc can do a membrane sweep, or membrane stripping- it can really help get things moving! It hurts if its done right and thoroughly, but it seems to really help alot of women get into labor.

I really hope you go soon (and naturally)- nothing sucks like being past a due date!

Oooh, I like that!!! I haven't even started a registry yet. Guess I need to be getting busy.. I've got roughly 18 weeks left before my (still unnamed) daughter arrives. I swear, it's easier naming a chicken than a child. Why can't it be socially acceptable to have the baby, spend a few weeks with them, like we do with our chickens, then name them? Afterall, I can work with a personality, but trying to name a child based on nothing more than a blurry U/S pic and her kicking pattern is HARD!!!

I asked him to do one today. He tried, but said he couldn't get up in there good enough b/c I'm only 1cm. OB is not my field, but I think he may have a special weekend planned with his family for Mother's Day and may have not wanted to stir things up. I hate to be a skeptic, but I know all too well how doctor's can be. I may instruct my DH on how to do one, and see if we can stir things up ourselves.

OH, now that is CUTE!! I might have chosen that if I'd run across it in my HOURS of online bedding shopping. I thought I'd seen 'em all!

I am happy with our ladybugs, though. Seems like they'll become Caroline's trademark. When I planned the nursery theme, I didn't realize she'd be born smack-dab in the middle of ladybug season. It's working well.

Babies really don't need that much! The folks in marketing & sales just want you to think that. When I had my first, my registry was a mile long. This time (even tho' we'd sold ALL of our baby stuff), the registry only had about 10 items on it. You'll find that so much of that stuff is unnecessary. Our cousin is having her first, and her registry had an insane amount of items on it. The one that stuck in my mind was a bath water floating thermometer. I was like, "Really? Just stick your arm in the water and you'll be able to tell if it's okay to throw the baby in there!" LOL

YIKES!!! I'm all for do-it-yourself, buuuuut, I dont think doing a membrane sweep is the best idea for you guys to try to do on your own! The thing about the sweep is, your cervix DOES need to be open enough to get 2 fingers in there (means dialation is starting and your cervix is 'ripe') to do the sweep. The sweep helps release hormones that can start labor, but it can be a messy procedure (some bleeding afterwards is normal), but if your hubby did the sweep, you wouldnt really be sure if he did it right or did damage. Sweeps do hurt if done right, but how will you know if the pain is right or not? Also, you risk popping the bag of waters- which is an instant access point for infection. Your DR may be right (sorry)- I have been denied a sweep before when my cervix was not open enough. Its really the kind of thing you need to have experience and/or training to perform.

PLEASE re-consider! Unless your hubby has experience in that kind of procedure. Otherwise, you could just try the old standby of sex (bet he enjoys that alot more!), or, if you can reach, you could scrub the HECK outta your own hands and do a bit of stirring/stimulating your cervix yourself.

Sorry, Im not usually pro 'Do it all the Dr's way' kinda person, but I worry about infection and possible damage to your cervix if you allow a 'lay person' to go pokin' around up there!! I DO wish you the best ! Dont want anything to go even slightly wrong at this point. I know how you feel, I do, but ya gotta be a tiny bit more patient, labor WILL come!
