Sorry... I think I cried almost as much as Luke for his last set....

Oh geeze... I have to take Carly for hers next Thursday.. She has to have 4 of them, plus they have to redo the "Newborn" heel stick because the one they took at the hospital when she was born wasn't viable. So she gets poked 5 times.. I am NOT looking forward to it. I will be taking the whole box of Kleenex with me....

The worst part was when she looked up at me...and made eye contact. The look in her eyes was soooo upset and confused....like, "WHY ARE YOU HURTING ME, MOM?!"

Bill took Luke for his first set, but I took him for his second, and it was soo sad. When she stuck him he froze and had this look like "WTH just happened!" Then he started screaming and the tears started rolling and he turned all red. I felt soo bad for him! We have to do his 6 month shots in a few weeks, plus his Flu shot.... I'm already dreading it.

I may ask them if they will let me break this up into 2 visits a week apart. I'm thinking maybe it wouldn't be so rough on her as far as the drug cocktail is concerned.... But it may not make a difference of 2 versus 4 at a time

I thought a lot about that....but I have to go back to work on Tuesday and I'm not sure it would be better to take her in twice vs getting it all done at once and over with.

Yah, I would rather just get it done and over with, he feels yucky for a day or two, but then we don't have to worry about it again for a couple months. And yah, the look they give you is horrible

Why 4? I don't remember exactly, just that she named off 4 vaccines. And I know the WTH look.. I had to take her back to the hospital the day after we got released and have her heel pricked to check the levels on her jaundice. It wasn't already bad enough that I was still in full swing of the baby blues and anything remotely emotional sent me over the edge.... But she gave me the same look when they stuck her and the tears rolled.. I was a mess. LoL I'm still a little touchy at 8 weeks PP with the emotional stuff. So next Thursday will be interesting...................

I think Luke had 4 vaccines, but two were combined, so only 3 shots....

Love the smile!! I FINALLY got some photos of Carly smiling. Just had to set the camera on sport mode where it takes 40 bagillion shots per minute to actually be able to capture it.

The 1st shots were the worst for Shane, the poor guy was colicky and when he had gas (which was always) he would lift his legs to his chest. So after getting shots in both of his legs not only was he gassy but every time he moved his legs for the gas his legs hurt too. It was a weekend from hell.

My pediatrician asked if I wanted to hold off on shots and I asked her opinion....well, she didn't understand what I was asking I guess. She said it should be fine...what I was really asking was "how bad will it be on top of the gas" not can his immune system handle it. He held his breath so long that he turned blue and then started crying like no other. I knew it wasn't that bad so I actually didn't mind it, but the aftermath was unbearable. The 2nd shots were MUCH better..by then we had the colic under control and he barely cried.
Keep in mind ladies that they are looking to you for comfort and if you are freaking out they will know it and feel even more freaked out themselves. I just laughed it off and distracted him, he forgot all about it in less than 1 minute.
We go in 2 weeks for our 6 month visit...hoping the dr gives the ok to try to switch to regular formula, I really wanna try the formula made just for spit up and see if I can wear some clothes without spit up on them for once. Plus, I would like to be able to afford more than 1 can at a time! I have bought up all the alimentum on craigslist and now have to pay store price for it

just tried prunes today, my little man loves to eat..he doesn't care what it is, but bananas seem to be the favorite..he doesn't waste a drop of the bananas.

watchdogps: hey...you never know, how many epsiodes of "I didn't know I was pregnant" are there where the girl still had her period or spotting!
