Not really, is it like Placenta Abruption? Why whats going on, you got me worried for your girls...

No no, the baby is fine. It seems it causes blood clots to disperse, giving worry to the mom. And causes pain. But the baby is fine. Weird.

Huh. I wonder if this is just something the Dr. coined to give Mom go phrase to go home with and really is a small amount of placenta abruption. That is the only thing I can think of, because that is the only thing actually attached to the uterine wall that could be "separating".

Does she have a subchorionic hemorrhage? I know several people who have had one - they figured it out because they were bleeding. Most doctors will have women on a modified bedrest following diagnosis because there is a small, but real risk that the placenta will separate further and the pregnancy will be lost.

Luckily, the placenta will often reattach at the site of hemorrhage and allow the pregnancy to go back to low risk.

Kelsey and Krcote - it is essentially a small amount of placental abruption, but it's not called that because placental abruption is defined as placental separation between 20 weeks and full term.

Good luck debiraymond - I hope it resolves quickly! Have her drink LOTS of water!

Does that mean she is having some spotting or bleeding? I had to Google it (love my Google!) and I found this...

If it's that and the doctor isn't worried, I would try not to worry either, which is easier said than done.

I had that with my baby at about 6-7 weeks. Scared me to death...the bleed on the ultrasound was bigger than the embryo! It resolved fine though and he's now 7 months old and screaming at me in the background. We're getting ready to take him fishing for the first time.

Congrats, y'all! I'm still way behind you at 5 weeks. Yeah, just a little bit pregnant, as hubby says.
