Expectant parent club! Where the pregnant people hang out.

My daughter took a test in early Feb she was a few days late and it came back neg. then a few days later she had a "slight period" that only lasted a couple days. Then missed her period all together in March. Took the test and it came back Pos. So at that time she thought she was only 6 weeks pregnant but come to find out she was pregnant when she took the test back in feb. She did the exact same thing with my now 8 yr old grandson. They had her due date by her last period even the ultrasound said october and he was born Sept 1st and the head nurse said he was over baked.

LittleChickenLady - If it's been 3 days since you took the test and it's 4 days past your missed period I would take another test. Mine was late showing up positive, but I also have a longer cycle than most women.

It took 4 days for mine to show up a faint positive with the line-type tests. Then, just to be sure my eyes were not playing tricks on me, I got one of those Clear Blue type with the digital read out that says "Pregnant" or "Not Pregnant". They come in a 2 pack. Try 1 test and if it comes by negative, wait 2-3 days and take the other one. If both are negative, schedule an appt with your OB-GYN just to be sure. A missed period could mean pregnancy, but could also be a signal for something else such as increased stress causing you to miss your period, an STD, or an reproductive issue.

Well I know that it's definitely not an STD. I just had an appointment with my OBGYN on March 31st for an exam and everything came back good. I've been in a steady relationship with my boyfriend for several years. I'll take another test in the morning just to be sure. I guess I'll be letting you guys know if I can join the club or not.

I am sooo excited! I have my second apt tomorrow (9wks 4 days). I guess it is at the OBGYN but with some woman who us a consultant or something? We will go over planning, testing options, all that good stuff. I have never really heard of an apt like this but we will see. Has anyone else done something like this? If so what can I expect? Then in 2 wks I will see the OB again and have my 11.5 wk ultrasound and bloodwork.

As for your pregnancy tests, I was taking them like every 4 days starting 4 days B4 my missed period, but didn't get a positive result until 2 at least a week and a half late. When I called the Dr to tell them they put me at 6 weeks since they count back. My cycles are shorter than avg though. Let us know what happens!

I am revisting this post....my DH pointed out earlier how I looked like he dropped (not aware that you had mentioned it). And now that he says that, perhaps he is right. His bum is not as far up and that could explain (as my DH pointed out as well) why I have been having more pains in my lower abdomen. I guess it happened in the last few days and I didn't notice.

Got Shanes room painted today! Now just to get the crib together and put everything in it's place. It'll be wierd. Another one of those holy crap, we are having a baby moments. Tomorrow will be 1 month away from my due date! still not sure if

Welcome!!! Let us know how your next appointment goes - never heard of one like that, but it sounds interesting! A lot of OBs have their patients go see someone else for at least one of the early appointments - with my last pregnancy, I saw the nurse practitioner for most of the visits.

So what color(s) and themes are y'all's nurseries? I'd love to see some pics. I have had two people ask me what color I am doing and what my "theme" is? I had no idea there was such a thing!

I have NO idea what to do for that. The last three people I know that had babies--one did a jungle theme, the other two barnyard. I am kind of liking the barnyard ideas....but not sure.

Baby's room is a soft, buttery yellow--ironically enough, called "golden egg!"

I painted it a year ago thinking that if I ever got preggy, it would be a neutral enough color so I wouldn't have to do it over again!

Here are the photos....

The room is large enough for a crib and the bed.

DH has to trim out the window casing still and I bought mini-blinds and insulated, "black-out" curtains, which he still needs to install. Edited to add--we also have to do the molding around the ceiling, the floor, the door casing and install a new light fixture, too!

Thanks! I will post tomorrow when I get home! My first apt was like a yearly exam plus ultrasound where we got to see the heart beat! Now hubby keeps calling the baby little Lima bc it looked like a lima bean on the us pics

Very cute!! That will look nice as a nursery - I wouldn't worry about re-painting it unless you want to. IMO, nursery themes are more for the parents than anything else. I had a slight butterfly theme in my daughter's room when she was little, although most traces of that are long gone. I actually painted this dresser for her almost 2 years ago, after the butterfly theme was gone!
