Expectant parent club! Where the pregnant people hang out.

Well I am back.

I had a different U/S person this time--a man. He was very serious and cold.

He said he was going to get a bunch of shots of the heart & head. He then turned the monitor away from me for about 10 minutes and I could hear him saving certain images. I tried to talk to him and he acted really busy and inconvenienced that I was talking while he was working. So I shut up.

The EIF's are still there.

He said there are four chambers of the heart and then pointed out the bright spots in the heart. I got to see them myself. They looked like little white dots within the black of the heart. He said everything else "looks pretty normal."

PRETTY, normal?

My DH asked him how often he sees heart things like this. He said about 50% of the time there will be "artifacts" on the heart.

After a while, he turned the monitor towards me so I could see the baby. I got to see her hands and toes. She's still a girl--a MUCH more definite crotch shot this time!

Her heartbeat was 142bpm. I only got to see the baby for about 3 minutes.

Then he handed DH three pics and said they will look at them (the ultrasounds) today and someone will be getting back to me within a few days.

DH said he saw the heart well, fingers/toes, head, face, etc. He said it looked "like a baby."

After I got to see the pics, I have to agree. Cute profile...doesn't look like Downs....but who knows. Now I have to just wait some more.

DH used the scanner last and it's set for PDF files so the u/s pics aren't coming up.

I will keep trying.

Hugs... I know how scarey it is... DD has already had 2 ultrasounds and she is only 22 weeks... they thought her baby was gonna have birth defects ... but lucky for us baby Lilly Gracelynn is ok so far... the waiting is to hear the results is very nerve racking. praying all is well

it's hard sometimes not to! However, it's an upgrade from living in Portland and Seattle. Then, you have gray, dark skies and rain about 8 months out of the year. VERY depressing.

At least here when it's -25 the sun is shining!
lol.png

well atleast someone here has worse weather than I. Except the sun doesn't shine much here except in the summer. A lot of SAD folk around here in the winter. We just got rid of our snow and I was excited to finally wear a short sleve maternity shirt the other day. We are finally into the 50's and I am SUPER glad to have the hose back for the chickens. Boy do I hate lugging water from the house.

so I just got on to share.....just got back from the dr and I am 3cm, 90% effaced. She says it will probably be in the next week! She said I am really thin and some mumbo jumbo ratios that I didn't remember or understand.

uhhhh....I gotta go.....so much to do!

Just wonderful to hear your body has already done so much work without you being in labor!!! Oh my gosh, you are gonna go soon girl!!

I bet you have just maybe a week or less till youre holding that baby!! Just wonderful news really, thats where I was with my first baby and my water broke about 5 days after getting the same news! (on the down low- it broke a few hours after hubby and I were intimate, I think theres an old wives tale that says it can help things along, but who knows for sure?!) Cant wait for your ' I'm in labor" update!!
