Expectant parent club! Where the pregnant people hang out.

I've had nothing but "personal experience" stories of how one innocent little baby: destroyed marriages, relationships, killed free time, didn't allow anything but tending-to-baby time, put them through so much pain and suffering through the pregnancy, labor and the aftermath of pushing a child out, etc - Heck, if it was that bad the first time, why on Earth did you let it happen again!? And again!? Gracious.

Yes, this is our first baby. Yes, we know that everything in our day to day will change. And no, we have no idea what life will be like once we bring that ity bity thing home, but I'm sure it is only the experience that you make it. (( Although, I won't lie - I'm petrified at the idea of labor, but by the time it comes around I'm sure I will be welcoming it with open arms.. or legs rather

)) But I've pushed myself to be nice and bite my tongue.. Just smile and say "thank you" - haha!

I had leftover lasagna, garlic bread and a salad for lunch....now I'm getting ready to head back outside and do some weeding.

YUM! I love pasta in all forms! I ate some leftover chili, brought my trays of seedlings out in the sun then took a few pictures of my new additions to add to the farm website

Came back in to a still silent house....I love naptime!

Had the neck U/S done today and HE was not cooperating so 45 minutes later got all that measured. Everything is doing good they are still keeping her at 12 weeks. Due date Nov 22nd.

ETA: forgot to mention this is my daughter having the baby.

Me too! All I have heard since I was old enough to even think about having a baby was, Oh you need to have a baby! They are such a joy and you will love them more than you ever knew you could love anything in this whole world, and blah blah blah.... Now that I am pregnant, those same people are telling me how much my life is going to change and how hectic raising a child is and more blah blah blah... Just making it sound so awful. You know, life is full of nothing but changes. When I hit 5 1/2 years old, I went to school.. No more all day cartoons, or playing outside to my hearts content. Boy, what a time sucker that was until graduation. Then I got a job. Sheesh, that was waaaay different than school. Not near as fun with all of the social connections! Once I got settled with all that stuff and juggled it with partying and being carefree, I met someone, got married and made a home. Forget school and jobs, this was a big game changer. I had to work, come home clean the house, then I had to cook!

3 years into marriage, we quit our jobs and opened our own business. That really was an eye opener. Plus, it took all of our money and even more of our time.. Now 10 years after marriage and all of the other changes we have endured since birth, I think we can handle a child with losing our minds or not having time for ice cream!! It can't be that bad or there wouldn't be, how many billion people in the world, with more arriving daily??????

End of rant that was conjured up by Kelseygirls' rant......

I'm sure itty bitty babies can chew into your time but sheesh... I was watching one of those home renovation shows; family moved into a place at, like, 2 weeks until due and wouldn't you know it. The baby came a few days after they moved in. The dad ended up doing all the renovations with the little one two rooms down. It was kinda funny. He'd feed, burp and change her and then run down the hall to work on the sheetrock. Moment he broke out a power tool or hammer though...

They did manage it in the end. Very nice remodel too, just took them a bit longer than they thought it would.

So it looks like I may be joining the club. We were going to wait until next year as we're planning a cruise for our 10 year wedding anniversary next May and wanted to try to get pregnant then. Looks like we may be planning on #2 and a new nursery instead. Nervous and confused. Will find out for sure in the next few days.

Congrats! I remember with our first I was just in shock as we were planning a cross country move at the time so that I could further my career in opening an amazing farm to table restaurant with another chef. He's in NC and now I'm in Beavercreek, OR. Figures that I just started planning a completely farm to table apart from mushrooms, truffles and other wild edibles we forage from the woods around our house. In fact our first dinner, which will be focused on the morels we're harvesting, is on the 4th of June. We'll just have to wait and see!
