Expectant parent club! Where the pregnant people hang out.

Well I looked at my son when he got home, and there is no white lacey rash. It looks like wind burn to us.

Whipped cream for the fruit, just in case someone like me shows up. Honey butter for the croissants. Iced tea too, not just hot. Otherwise you are golden!!!

Cool, thanks. I am wondering if we could get away with no hot food? Someone else suggested cucumber sandwiches...maybe those & lots of fruit, bagels & cake?

Sounds great to me! How about some watermelon, maybe some finger veggies like baby carrots, sugar peas, broccoli florets? LOVE the croissants idea too, excellent choice!

You might consider 2 buckets of ice, one for people to put ice in their drinks, and one to put bottled water in (and any other drinks like juice pouches, or any other packaged drinks). The misters will go a long way to keeping things cool too.

I am so happy for you! Sounds like your baby shower is going to be really nice and fun! Are you planing on doing games?

Thank you! I am not sure about games....of course the ladies planning it want games...but with more than 30 people probably coming, I don't want to be there until 2pm in 100+ degree heat.

I would be most happy with good food, some shade and just socializing.

Here's a game suggestion, rare feathers.

For my shower, they are putting a note in the invites for everyone to bring a pack of diapers for the chance to win a door prize.

And there's their game

With Fifth Disease it looks like they've had their cheeks slapped -- this is the classic sign. Then a later rash breaks out. My two oldest kids had this when they were 5 -6 years of age -- waiting on my four year old to catch it at daycare -- it's very common. I bet you can Google some pictures. Takiing him to the doctor??

Okay - so I typed a three-paragraph-long essay about my birth last Friday, and three words from the end of the last paragraph I pressed some keystroke pattern that triggered a new tabbed brow to open and it killed my BYC page. This time, I'm posting the short version.

Caroline Grace was born via c-section at 11:06pm Wednesday, May 18th. 9 lb 12.4 oz, 22 inches, with lots of RED hair like her daddy!

I was at 42 weeks gestation -- and can happily say that the extra time was worth not having to deal with jaundice!! I was induced for a VBAC at 8:15 - AROM & Pitocin introduced in the afternoon (time is a blur) and experienced over three hours of horribly painful contractions before opting for an epidural at 6:30pm. I thought I was going insane with pain! I hoped that the epidural would relax me enough to dilate more b/c I was stalled at a five. It didn't, and I gave in to c-section at 10:00pm ish.

She is an excellent baby - not fussy like my sweet four-year-old was - and slept though the night the last two nights already! I was worried about that & spoke with her doctor yesterday. As long as she eats every three hours in the daylight hours and is gaining weight, this is not a problem -- yay!!

We put a note on the invitations to bring diapers for a chance to be in a raffle. I got so many diapers I literally didn't buy any until Wyatt was 5.5 months old.

What kind of door prize would be appropriate. I am thinking of doing this for my daughters baby shower in September.

And is it ok for the hostess and the mom to be to be entered into the raffle?
