But I sure hope you have better luck than I have had. Mine started around week 6 and I thought it would go away at some point.. Nope. Still have it!!!! I'm already on my third, 150 count bottle of tums. I'm not exactly sure of how many of the 3 roll packages.. I keep tums in the bathroom, bedroom, living room, my purse and on my desk at work. I shall be caught nowhere without them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Someone told me that heartburn meant that she would be born with a full head of hair... I told them no, all it means is that she has my guts shoved up into my throat!

I know I could take prevacid or something, but I kind of like the flavor of spearmint tums.... It's like the guilty pleasure of having candy, but not......

To all ladies that are having alot of acid reflux/heartburn: watch it after baby comes. With each of my girls, it returned with avengance about two weeks after delivery. It was awful!!! The doc gave me Nexium. After it happening the second time, I asked if this was a normal thing and she said in some women it is. It felt different after delivery and very painful. I can remember a Nexium ad with barbed wire wound up in a stomach and I'm like, yup, that's what it feels like!!!! Hope you are free of heartburn soon!

Well, last night was the BEST dream!

I dreamed that a local food vendor was giving away free thick and moist double chocolate brownies topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, topped with hot chocolate fudge

and I got TWO.

So now I'm wondering if brownies and fudge are a good breakfast of champions

I agree with that! And how awful! From week six!? I thought my morning sickness was a ride, I couldn't imagine having this little acid issue for that long! Hopefully it will give out soon for you!

At least the Tums work... I've been trying them here lately because it's been so bad - nothing. Not even the slightest bit of relief. Maybe I'll try the minty ones, because the fruity ones DH brought home for me just aren't cutting it

And I really hope you are wrong, ChikeeMomma.. Like I said, I've sure give this up for some good ole' morning sickness

Glad it was your dream and not mine, I would have probably tried eating my pillow in the middle of the night

Or would have been up making brownies at 3am

So, I had my regular doctor's visit this morning - Blood pressure was fine, I'm measuring just where I/we should be, I've gained a total of 10lbs, and the baby's heartrate was 142

But... dun, dun, dun... I have my glucose test at the end of July
hmm.png
It's only the one hour test so far, but I don't like sweets, ugh. Expecially thick gooey, sugary junk I have to drink. Fingers are crossed that I manage to keep it down, they really should make these things in the afternoon - then it probably wouldn't be so bad... but what can ya do!?

My doctor is also pregnant at the moment, she has eight weeks left to go - I asked her if there were any funky changes I should be expecting/looking foward to in the coming weeks/months/etc.. her response.. "You're just going to get more miserable!"

Poor Amy. And she isn't even that big.

I'll have to try and get the ultrasound picture I got yesterday scanned in.. it's our best one yet! We've got ultrasound machines here at work and all the girls I work with are convinced the more they look at it, the more they will convince it to be a boy

But it really is a good picture!

Hey ladies! Five weeks today. We have only told one dear friend. I am so not a good secret keeper! Hoping to wait until 10 weeks along. We are going camping this weekend, so that should keep my mind off sharing it! Have a great 4th, everybody!!

Well, we are back from a short trip to the Mountains of NC and TN before the rush of holiday traffic this week. We had a lot of fun, but I found out that trying to hike - even for a short distance - was KILLER later in the afternoon and in the morning. I was sore in places I didn't know existed. Plus, I wore those exercise tennis shoes that I haven't worn in months. If I sat down, I couldn't get back up without hubby pulling me up out of the chair. I finally broke down and took a couple of tylenols. Everything is loosing up and expanding and I just can't hike uphill or climb stairs anymore. I've never liked taking an elevator. I'm not scared of them, but given the choice I'll take stairs. Until now, it looks like.

The hotel in Gatlinburg we were staying at had a resident bear. We never saw him, but some other hotel folks did. They said they saw him around the pool - which was within 100 feet of our room. I don't know how we missed him! It is sad, though, that the bear is coming around. People keep feeding him donuts. They just don't understand that doing that sets that poor bear up for trouble...

Hubby actually wanted to camp during our trip, but I don't think I could have made it this time. Imagine stumbling to the bathroom in the mountain wilderness at least twice during the night for example... When he wants to camp, we camp - not at some beside the room place but in the deep, dark woods. It's not that bad, but I was struggling around and I don't think I'm a wossie.

But, anyways, we took breaks while driving every 2-3 hours to let me stretch my legs. If I didn't, I felt like fluid was building up in them and then had a hard time sleeping at night. Also, I learned that lemonade makes heartburn 10x worse than it has been. So bad that my husband said he could smell it on my breath.
