My DD had her assessment for kindergarten this morning! She apparently did really, really well because they spent almost a half an hour on her assessment (as opposed to the other little boy who they took 5 minutes with), and came out just gushing about how well she can read and how advanced her vocabulary is!
Just had to brag a little. I am VERY proud, if you can't tell
Back on topic though, been having a lot of contractions again today with increasingly painful cramping. I timed my contractions yesterday and they were every 6 minutes for 2.5 hours before they died away, so I think this little boy is getting closer. As I tell my husband, this must mean that I'm one day closer than I was yesterday!
I'm trying to be patient, but it is getting increasingly difficult!
Chicken processing went great! Aside from the fact that by the end of the day my body was telling me I did way too much, I am very happy with how the whole thing turned out.
Such a relief to have it done. Now, we are off to drive to PA for DH's brother's wedding until Saturday. Aren't I supposed to be on vacation?!
RareFeathers- Thats GREAT!!! SOOOOO much better to start labor at a "Zero" or "Plus 1" station!!! Means babies' haed is engaged in your pelvis and against the cervix, preparing for its decent down the birth canal!! Have you lost your mucus plug, any contractions?? Im so happy for you that you are progressing!!
Sorry to all I havent been here in awhile...its been pretty busy around mi casa! I do read most of the recent posts, but I often dont have time or energy to respond. I am so glad to have this thread though!
Went to the Dr today- have gained 3 pounds since my last visit on July 6th, which isnt too bad for me
! So now Im am up to 161.4 or so. About 8 weeks of growth to go! Dr said to cut back on the carbs and watch my diet more.
I was told by my Dr that I have to slow waaaaaayyy down and start taking it easy. I told her Im just doin my regular stuff (5 kids, house and animal chores, etc) and she told me that what is normal for me is actually ALOT more than the 'average' preggy woman is doing. Whatever...
But I am going to have to listen to her advice since any time I walk fast or move too much I start contracting, and it is waaaayyyy to soon for this guy to show up. She told me that since I have had 5 kids already, that my cervix is probably not as strong as it used to be, and my constant fatigue is another symptom of possible pre-term labor. Sooooo, its the slow train for me for a few weeks, I guess. (ugh, boring and makes me feel lazy).
Did the glucose tolerance test today too. Drank the lemon/lime drink. It wasnt horrible, just like flat soda and really cold (but I LIKE cold, flat sodas, I leave open sodas in the fridge allll the time to sip over a few days time, no one gets it, but at least I always have a cold soda to myself!). I didnt feel anything except a jittery sugar rush for about 45 minutes, then I wanted to sleep! But I decided to go out for sushi with my daughter afterwards instead of head home for a nap, and Im soo glad I did- it was delicious!!! But I stuck with plain water for a drink- couldnt handle the idea of any more sugary drinks for today!
Baby is doing well- he has the hiccups right now as I type! Its such a funny feeling! Anyone else ever feel the hiccups from their baby? He is currently laying diagonally in there, head pointed at my left hip, butt to my upper right ribcage, with his spine facing my spine. I hope he turns the right way soon!
