Expectant parent club! Where the pregnant people hang out.

Well, hold on East Coast friends. Hurricane Irene is coming.

I have spent the morning filling up jugs of water in case of a power outage so the chickens and goats can have water. Tomorrow will be grocery store run day for canned goods and bottled water for us.

And I might add that I am not looking foward to this! Haven't decided yet if we're going to head out somewhere or stay put.. we live in a trailer, so I'm a little more leary about waiting it out. DH I'm sure will want to sit here... But we will look awful funny hauling chickens, ducks, a mini pig and a dog into a hotel!

But DH already knows, if they don't go - I don't go.

My fingers are double and triple crossed that it pulls farther out in the ocean, just giving us some rain.

I'm a bit north of you, but it still looks like it could impact us pretty hard here, too.

I used to enjoy hurricanes, but once you buy a house and establish your household, your thoughts change. Plus, being 30 weeks prego and having to deal with hurricane cleanup is going to be sucky.

Agreed!

Had my 38 week crotch check this morning... I'm dilated 2cm now.. But having no other signs of an early arrival. I think she is comfy in there or something..

Sure am hoping that she doesn't go past 40 weeks.

Speaking of going over 40wks.... Wonder how springchickens is doing!?!?!

I see my Dr on Wednesday. I was 35 weeks Saturday. Ugg. Feels like I've been 35 weeks f o r e v e r.

I'm jealous of those who can say they are 38 weeks - because if I was 38 weeks I'd be having her in a week

Good luck to our east coast Mama's to be! I hope the hurricane isn't that bad or that it shifts away entirely!

Storm, shmorm. Well, my friends and family all call our basement "The Bomb Shelter" because of all the canning I do and store down there. Not to mention that we have 2 chest freezers full of meaties, 2 floor to ceiling shelving units with dry goods, the woodstove with plently of wood, utility sink and a "living room" set up for enjoying the wooodstove in the winter, craft supplies and tools up the wazoo... etc., etc., etc.! You all are welcome to head up the coast to wait it out in luxury at our house!

Wouldn't that be awesome if we could have something like that down here! The majority of my family won't be able to leave due to EOC, so I think we're planning on staying here too.. we're just heading into town to my parent's house

Went and bought fresh bags of feed last night, water and a few canned goods - nothing big and crazy. Will be getting everything but the crates and animals together tonight. And we bought these massive ratchet straps for the coop and run

That puppy isn't going anywhere! Still hesitant about the chickens though. They, unlike my ducks, dog, and pig, won't fair well in a crate for long - so they will probably have to stay and just be locked tight in the coop

I don't want to leave them by themselves.
