Expectant parent club! Where the pregnant people hang out.

Good luck to all of you on the east coast!! I'm glad that the worst we get out of a hurricane here is a little bit of rain... that would be scary to try to figure out what to do with all the animals, especially the chickens! Although maybe I should head up to see krcote - maybe a hurricane would be what I need to get this baby out!! I'm starting to think he's not coming out any other way... (11 days post due today

My daughter had her first day of kindergarten yesterday!! I can't believe how grown-up she is becoming; I went to drop her off and I barely even got a wave good-bye. ***sigh***

Then after school, I had to take her to the doctor's because she has an abscess on her chest which just keeps getting worse despite antibiotics. I called to make an appointment in the morning and learned that her doctor wasn't in that day, so grudgingly made an appointment with the other doctor. When we got to her appointment, her doctor was there!! He had called in and found out that she was on the schedule and decided to come in on his day off to see her! He earned MAJOR brownie points!

He took one look at her and decided we needed to lance the abscess (which I knew) and asked if I would be adverse to doing it right then. I was thrilled; when we had talked about lancing it before, he had mentioned going to the hospital across town and making an appointment with a general surgeon, so I was worried that I wouldn't be able to be there if I went into labor before then. He walked over to the ER (next door) and asked the doctors there if they minded doing the procedure right then, which they were fine with, so we just headed over.

The doctors over there did an amazing job with her. Its a traumatic, stressful experience for anyone, and they really went out of their way to make the experience as positive as possible.

So the poor kid... had one of the best days of her life coupled with one of the worst! She will probably remember yesterday for a very, very long time!

OHHH too cute! She is adorable and I love her kissing your belly! I hope she feels better soon! It must have been scary, but I bet now that it is lanced, it must be a relief of pressure already.

I didn't feel it either, but I wasn't at home. I was at the school, in the auditorium, for a back to school rally with 500+ screaming/running/undisplined kids plus my 4 kids and 9 bounce houses.

No one there felt it.

My husband said our house vibrated and he thought for a moment that our ceiling fan might fall, but that was it.

I left the school rally tired, cranky, and a butt load of free supplies! More than they need for this year, so have tucked them back for next year!

She is so pretty! And maybe, just maybe, your DD and DH should have used postal stamps instead. To let that baby know it's time to ship out!!! ..... Sorry, I have been in a silly mood today....

I ended up having to buy a childbirth class on DVD. My hospital didn't have a schedule of classes that worked for us. The one time only every 3 months, Saturday class took place 2 weeks before they told me I needed to take a class.

And the 1 night per week for 3 weeks class... Doesn't start until next weekend. Uhmm, I'm 38 weeks already, so it's a tad late. It makes no sense to me why they only hold classes every couple of months. Had I known in the beginning, I could have taken one. But at that stage, with my memory, I would have already forgotten alot of it by now. I've had my DVD for about a month and I am already watching it for the second time... I sure hope my memory comes back after birth. Some of the things I forget are just the simplest things.
