Expectant parent club! Where the pregnant people hang out.

Audrey sleeps in our room in a pack & play (for now)...but we'll start transitioning her to the crib once she sleeps through the night better. Unfortunately, her room is on the other end of the house.

The monitor we have is a Graco one. It's white & silver. My dh's grandmother bought it for us. I found the same one at Wal-Mart for around $60.00 It has a 2,000 ft range which is nice because I can sneak outside while she's napping and feed/water all of the animals with it and still hear everything perfectly. I can listen to an entire TV show from outside because it's so clear. I have also been able to hear the answering machine messages from the chicken coop--and the answering machine is two rooms away from where Audrey naps!

Wow! Think that will be the one I go get when we move her to her own room.

I'm using the Angel Care monitor. It has sound, but also monitors movement through a pad under the mattress, so it can tell if the baby stops breathing. If there are no movements for 15 seconds, an alarm on my end goes off. We love it, and it has amazing range. Oh and it tells me the temp in his room, so I don't have to worry about him getting too warm or too cold.

I had been looking at this one but in the description it just says monitors "movement" so I could not tell if that included breathing or not. This type of alarm/monitor had been recommended to me by a first-time mom co-worker. She said it helped her sleep so much easier. I love the monitors with the temp feature, I have an old house so temp fluctuations may end up being an issue.

I have a Sony BabyCall monitor and despise it!! Don't get it! The range is only about 40 feet (despite them saying its 600 ft) and there is a lot of static and clicking and beeping.

Yes, it monitors the movement of breathing, it's extremely sensitive. It also has sound and the temp feature, I think there is a cheaper one that doesn't have the temp feature, but since Bill always had the house freezing, I decided it would be good to know that his room is staying warm.
