Fallen Feathers -A Chicken Roleplay

Robin stepped back in surprise, staring at the new rooster.

Robin glared daggers at him. He wanted to grab Climax's long, golden neck feathers and pull them out. Too late, he realized his hackles were raising.
"C'mon, let's go while he's distracted." Frosty whispered.
Climax shook his beautiful head, maneuvering himself into the smaller bird’s path. “He's no fun. I'd rather play with you. I think you’d rather pay your friend a visit though, rather than entertain my company. What do you say?” His voice was soft, but had a hoarse, menacing edge to it. Climax tilted his heax, giving them each an almost teasing glance.

"Uhhh, what friend?" Frosty squeaked. That was probably the wrong answer. I'm going to die...
Robin stared angrily at Climax, tensed for his next move.

“Your friend? You know... Turtle?” Climax asked. The tilt of his head was quickly becoming quite exaggerated and unnatural. The blue and gold rooster was behind the two of them, who were unconsciously edging backwards. He nudged them back. The rainforest was so close... close enough that the trees were shading the ground and creeping around them.

Frosty anxiously brought his wings out and waved them a bit. "Uh- you know we can't! Too much trouble!" He squeaked. Robin nodded vigorously.

Climax's eyes narrowed and the edges of his beak turned up, smiling a cocky smile. He took a step towards Frosty, revealing his short little spurs, impressively sharp for a bird as young as he was.
He glanced around, and, satisfied by their isolation, circled the pair and came close enough that Frosty's little beak was almost touching Climax's breast feathers. The diminutive bird stumbled back.
"You know what's next... No more games, little 'akepa...." Climax's titian eyes were filled with malevolent fire. "Into the forest or you will feel these on your necks..." He displayed his spurs reverently.

Frosty's eyes widened. "You don't have to bring out the spurs," he squeaked. "A stroll in the forest would be refreshing!.. Wouldn't it, Robin?" He said the last word loudly, pulling on Robin's tail feathers. Robin was staring angrily at Climax, his hackles close to rising.
"Ow! Fine. We'll go in the stupid forest!" He chirped, "Not like it's even that dangerous!" He dashed into the shadows, Frosty following close behind.

Climax smiled as he scared the two young cockerels away. Why couldn't a youth as he take amusement in simple pleasures such as those. And good riddance if they don't come back. At this rate I'll be the only cock in the whole territory!

Robin strutted about in the jungle, walking fast so Frosty couldn't see his trembling feet. The darkness seemed to close in on him, and he could feel his chest tightening. His breath came quick and shallow. He tried to hide his fears, though, so his friend couldn't see how much this affected him.
Finally, Frosty broke the silence. "Hey, Robin? Do you know where we're going?"
Robin stopped. He'd been so focussed on trying to not look afraid that he had paid no attention to where they were going. "Uhhh," his voice sounded shrill in the silence. Or maybe that was just the impeding panic.

The jungle was in a strange vigil. Watching. Watching what? Prey being hunted? Are we the only ones who don't see what's happening?
Apart from a shrill alarm call, the world was strangely silent. Even the insects, who usually had so much to say, were taciturn. Turtle slowly backed up against Amber (@Thing2LovesChickens ), since inquisitive Daybreak (@danceswithronin ) wasn't exactly being a comforting companion. Or maybe it was because he had a major crush on the little hen. He stepped forward a bit to give her some personal space.
"Hello?" he asked. Perhaps he would find some feeling of safety from the diction of his own hoarse voice.
"Hey, Robin? Do you know where we're going?"
Chickens! Tiny cockerels, no less! Why, even the most benevolent bush was giving him a fright!
Turtle smoothed his hackles, and turned his head toward the direction of the two stumbling youths. "Robin? Frosty? What brought you here? To the jungle of all places!" The real question I should be asking is why am I here?

(Thanks! I was waiting for a moment to insert myself!)

Amber glanced up at him as he came closer, then glanced away into the shadowy forest, embarrassed. But embarrassed in a good way. Maybe shy was a better word. Then she heard voices and froze, lifting her head as Turtle spoke and moved forward. “Frosty and Robin are here?” She asked, following him. Why would they be here? They won’t leave the glade for anything!
