Falling Down Heights, my daily life

Hope you get some better temps :hugs
This winter has been so ODD. A real yoyo of extremes. It's really affected the aple syrup production around here, as the trees need temps above freezing during the day but below at night, and half of March was above all the time. The thawing of the ground also started a lot of plants to sprout, but now the ground is frozen solid again.

Honestly, we rarely get temperatures above freezing until around this time of year, or in April. The world has gone amok!

Ours was slightly odd too. Weird winter for all, it seems. Hopefully it gets better soon

Ours was like that too. Super snowy and then all of a sudden nothing (apart from that one stupid week where I had birds inside)

Had to put one of my older hens down today... :( I noticed yesterday that she was really 'off' and when I checked her this morning she was clearly worse. What with all the surprise additions lately, and the horrible cold, I didn't have anywhere to put her to try to treat her.

She didn't struggle in the least when I picked her up (but she did give me a 'parting gift'; needed to change my pants), which also told me she was in bad shape. She had weird yellow stains all over her chest.

After it was done, a watery green liquid started coming out of her mouth. O_O

I have no idea how old she was. I'd had her for two years, and she was at least two years old when she came here. I never named her, but I'll miss her. She was a lovely salmon colour.

This is her in the middle:
