Dunno, I refuse to go out when it's dark now! And I get really skittish whenever I have to put the dog out at night, but he hasn't started barking at anything.Wind, are the monsters still lurking out there?![]()

Glad you are ok! Stay safe out there!!Dunno, I refuse to go out when it's dark now! And I get really skittish whenever I have to put the dog out at night, but he hasn't started barking at anything.
I know that skittish feeling. I get it during the winter out at my place. Every year, once it's dark early, it feels like I'm being watched when I put the birds away at night.Dunno, I refuse to go out when it's dark now! There's more out there than we know, or want to know! Whether it's lurking predators or something more ephemeral and spiritual.I know that skittish feeling. I'm like 80% sure it's something more spiritual. It very possibly could just be a fox or coyote, but the feeling I get is less 'small predator watching' and more 'There's something stalking me'. But we also have mountain lions, so it honestly could be that too. Yay...There's more out there than we know, or want to know! Do you have Screech Owls up there? They scream loud, sounds like someone is being murdered.Thank goodness I haven't seen/heard mountain lions around here!
Spookiest thing I heard here (and it actually woke me in the middle of the night!) was this screech loud enough to wake the dead! It was something flying too. Listened for hours to sounds of birds on youtube but never identified it.
We also have Great Horned Owls, and those are cool to listen to.
Last year a whippoorwill would sing every evening from the nearby trees for about two weeks. THAT was something!
First thing I thought of! But nope, wasn't that!Do you have Screech Owls up there? They scream loud, sounds like someone is being murdered.![]()
