Falling Down Heights, my daily life

Yeah, with so many things going on, it’s hard to hear about everything. Quite similarly, I would not have known about this polar storm that is hitting the US and Canada if it were not for BYC. Everyday I log on, it seems scarier and scarier. I think I saw -40C on one thread. Once again, stay safe!
We're over the worst of it here, for now. Snow is hitting tonight, but we're not expecting the huge amounts other areas are. And temps will still be cold this week here, but nowhere near as brutal.

That private island might be a good idea for you both, though funding that purchase might be a bit tricky :D.
You can come with us, Fluffy! ;)

Thanks. It looks like it’s over now. Our area only had minor issues (a road collapsing and another one getting blocked off due to fallen debris), thankfully
Glad your area wasn't hit too hard. Still bad that people lost their lives though. :(

How's the chickens? I haven't been lurking the other channels in a while.

Snowing here but is fine stuff, nothing heavy so far. I think it should just be about a few cm at the most. Still under a "don't eat yellow snow" warning for 10 to 20 cm - I don't think we will get much.

As for cold, it was a balmy -15C when I got up, -14C now. Sick of winter, just sick of it.

Glad to read that things are calming down a bit (though -14C sounds like a totally different world to me:eek:). Hopefully it’s smooth sailing till spring now. Only one and a half months away.

Yeah, it’s terrible, we are definitely not prepared for this kind of weather. It seems I have spoken too soon, as we are expected to be hit with another storm of similar severity this week.

The chickens, let’s just say that those that remain are doing really well:)

Spring here is more than a Month and half away 😊👍 we won’t get good weather until end of April likley.

This is why we all say May Long Weekend is our official start to gardening season.

You likely have not heard of Red Green but it’s a Canadian icon - comedy as only a Canadian can do hahaha!

Apologies, my cold climate ignorance is clearly showing  .
You’re correct, never heard of that before, will search it up immediately (I’m assuming the FB link is relevant, but I can’t access it as I don’t have FB)

I don't have FB either but the video clip should work - it's a short clip of comedy.

Not to worry about the cold climate, I am pretending I live on a tropical island hahaha.

It's snowing and with wind is blowing it all around, miserable weather. I have seen March beautiful and April snow, I have also seen it where April is so lovely the farmers get their crops in early. I have seen snow in June, and Sept. I have seen Christmas day with 60F and lovely. Here anything goes. About the only thing we can count on is mosquitoes and black flies hahahaha!

You guys are making me glad I live where I do. It never gets colder than -20F, we rarely get more than 12" of snow, and mosquitoes are almost nonexistent (even compared to other parts of the state).

I thought Vermont received lots and lots of snow? Don't you have ski hills and what not? Or am I mistaken?

I'll send you some mosquitoes - and snow!

Yes, we have good ski slopes. It snows frequently all winter in Vermont, but not tons at once. Where I live it's usually about 6" inches at a time before it melts some then snows again.
