Welcome to the world little ones!!Took a nap, we now have two Silkies (55 and 58) hatched, and 3 Sumatras out! Also this baby. None of the other’s membranes on their shells are this dark. Humidity is still good.But definitely moving at least so I’m keeping an eye out….

I know a lot of the breeder’s colors are grouped so there may be patterns in there too. Exciting!
I’m going to double check in the morning, but I’m FAIRLY certain 13 was one of the hatched ones. It’s hard to see the numbers after they get the darn shells off. We had several pop when I wasn’t in there or looking.
They planned it on purpose. I’ll do a head, er, egg count first thing and start lockdown for the Batch C Silkies!

One Serama definitely hatched! It's chaos, but it's a happy chaos. They're all so sweet looking! We're waiting until this evening and we'll scoot out the hatched babies to the brooder once they're fluffed up a fair bit so we can leave room for any other hatchers. I did see a new pip on two of the Serama eggs, and another Silkie egg for sure.

5, 55, 58, 34, 39 have definitively hatched! The others, I'm trying to scour the numbers in the chaos. We so far have 13 babies! It may be 14 as I can't remember if I counted #39 before or after counting the 13.
I think what went wrong this time with the first egg (and potentially any others that don't hatch) was the humidity was too high. We had a couple days I recall during late-stages (during lockdown) where it was so humid outside, the glass to the garage was just covered in condensation. So I'm going to keep a better, closer eye on this in the future. Even though the Govee said the humidity was okay in the incubator during incubation, I may have missed periods where it spiked. We're definitely going to try a batch or two in the kitchen on a table out of the way of direct light/drafts to see if that improves anything! There's a fair bit of foot traffic, but we're not chaotic loud as a family (outside of cat 3 a.m. zoomies) and there's much better overall lack of humidity in there, so I'm hoping that may be our ticket to a better hatch.
