Faverolles Thread

Yeah, and they're awesome!! Another product of her project has been lavender salmons...good grief, those boys are GORGEOUS!!!!!
IMHO, I prefer the look of the solid lavenders to the lavender salmon. What do the hens look like? That pale color with lavender fluff? I know what the males look like.

Are many of you on this thread coming to the Faverolles Nationals in Lucasville, Ohio in October? I live fairly close to there and was hoping to meet some of you in person. I have a couple of faverolles pullets already from Cloverleaf's hatching eggs, and love them. There doesn't seem to be many faverolles in this area.

...and I am sure someone will have an extra cockerel if you need one, talk to those going and see if you can hook up! I doubt I will have any as I have already done my end of season selections... only one possibility out there really, but others may have a better selection if you need a good boy to go with those (I am sure) drool-worthy Cloverleaf girls.

I'm still on the hunt for Standard size Faverolles...

But before I buy any, I want to make sure that they ARE a broody breed. I have read quite often that they are, but wanted to ask everyone here to be safe.

I know that there are possible strains out there that may not go broody, but overall, are they honestly seen as a broody breed?

I wish I could make it to the upcoming show in Ohio in October.... Perhaps if I start saving now I can. Not sure.
