@Alexandra33 you took the words RIGHT out of my mouth. I just got a speckled Sussex yesterday but the rest are all my favorites. I’ve got a huge soft spot for my welsummer.
I knew I couldn't possibly be alone in loving these breeds! :thumbsup

I love the weird ones! My flock is full of all the crested, muffy, fluffy feathers you can imagine!

It's hard to pick favourites - especially since most of them I only have one so can't generalize the breeds - but if I had to this would be my top five (in no particular order):

-Golden Sebright/Gold Brabanter - Two different breeds but they look very similar and my two had nearly identical personalities too, even though my Sebright was a cockerel and my Brabanter a pullet. They're gorgeous little birds that love to fly up high and serenade the flock. Both are very inquisitive and love attention, though they're not the cuddly type like sweet little cochins.

-Easter Eggers - I admit it took me awhile to fall in love with these....only when I got four of my own did I realize just how sweet and quirky these beauties can be! They remind me of little old ladies hanging around a small town salon....and who can resist their pretty eggs!

-Spangled Russian Orloff - What a little goofball my Mischka is!!! She's always the centre of any excitement in the run, and is friendly toward everyone, man or beast alike. She's like the girl next door who you inevitably fall in love with and who will always be your best friend.

-Salmon Faverolles - Yes, I love chickens that seem like little old ladies and there is no better breed of chicken at this than Faverolles!! They're the grey haired, chubby old gals who always keep mints in their pockets beneath old tissues but you take the mint anyway because you would hate to hurt their feelings.

(Above, my Vera is an odd Salmon Faverolles...her colouring is completely wrong! I adore her anyway!)

-Mille Fleur D'uccle - My only experience with this gorgeous breed is my little cockerel, who recently became Honoured Flock Leader after some intense flock management for too many aggressive roos. I honestly believed he was a pullet until just recently when he finally began to crow. He's just the funniest little guy ever, strutting around and fussing over his beloved hens, winking at me through his enormous cheeky puffs...he's everything a dream rooster should be plus the personality of a shy old gentleman.

Yes! I love exotic chickens! My oldest chickens are over 4 years old now, and they are old, doing all the old lady stuff. Being to lazy to get up from their comfort zone, sleeping randomly, and waddling like little grandmas! I love there little faces that are so small compared to the rest of there body:love
