Dish soap and baking soda really works great for cleaning showers and tubs. I scrub all kinds of things with baking soda.

The one thing I did not think worked well at all was vinegar and baking soda for cleaning toilets. I went back to a "natural" toilet bowl cleaner for that.

On floors I use vinegar and water or Murphy's oil soap.

No, my steamer is the Wagner power steamer. It has "tank" that is on the floor (no lifting or holding water while you clean) and has wheels. There is a long hose with a trigger you use to blast the steam. You can use any kind of cloth to clean with. I have one of those floor steamers too, picked it up at a rummage sale minus the cloth for $2, it is more a pain to use. I use rags cut to fit, but yes I could see how you would need a lot of them. 3 teens here and 2 dogs....I can relate!

I use the wagner steamer to clean counters, appliances, cabinets etc......just not the floor

I haven't tried it yet, but I heard to clean your wood floors with tea.

The secret of everyone’s grandmother that really works well is to clean your hardwood floors with tea. You can’t use instant; you have to brew it. And you have to brew it STRONG. We are talking anywhere from 5-20 tea bags in 2 quarts of water. Experiment with the number until you find a solution you like. If you’ve never heard of cleaning wood floors with water, you’ll probably be amazed with the results. It cleans, brings out the grain of the wood, and adds a nice shine. No rinsing with water is required and remember – damp mop only!

Otherwise I use salt, baking soda, vinegar, and hydrogen peroxide.

I haven't found anything that works better than baking soda/water paste to clean our stove. It actually works like the expensive products 'appear to' in commercials.

Pine Sol I've heard SO many people go on about, but when I walk into a building that uses it... GAH! stupid pine... I'm so wrapped up in my watery eyes and gloggy sneezy nose that I don't even notice if the place is clean.

It's a sad day when burning your nosehairs out with bleach fumes is preferable to a fragrance. *sigh*

I use a 50/50 mix of vinegar and water for most cleaning, for floors I have my steam mop (I do add a couple of drops of lavendar oil to the water), and for my granite counter tops I use a 50/50 water and rubbing alcohol mix (this also works beautifully for mirrors). There are times that I need some extra scrubbing power and I will use Bon Ami, a pumice stone, or the original Magic Eraser (not the one with cleanser in it).

My shower is a large walk in shower with lots of white tile and grout that is prone to mold, so on occasion I use Tilex in there.

I have to be pretty careful about what cleansers I use - I have a bleach allergy.
