Favorite Goose Breed

Well I looked at my favorite hatchery tonight, they are already accepting orders so I ordered my 17 chicks, and than I ordered my geese. I choose pilgrims after thinking it over. 3 females, and 1 male. All to ship June 1. So I guess I'm gonna try another breed. Hopefully my current goose will be impressed with my choices. :) Thanks everyone. Feel free to continue to discuss breeds. I'm so excited.

You might order 2 males. If your male dies it may be hard to find another Pilgram male quick enough for breeding season.

I'm okay if I lose the male again. I lost the one from this season, he didn't survive shipping. If I have to order the following year I won't be too sad. :) I'd rather be short a male than to have 2 males fighting and having to decide what to do with the extra.

Do they eat a lot? Now I really want some but they seem like they’d be good hogs LOL
I really can't tell how much they eat because I'm feeding a bunch of birds together. They can be noisy, and need room to run.
