Sorry I ended up posting that pic separately. It's the only one I have of one of my 9 week old Light Brahmas. If you zoom in you can see the feathers on her feet.

I ordered a batch of broilers from McMurray and received an extra chick. Any ideas the breed? Feather footed with chipmunk pattern.

Thank you!

Ours looked exactly the same as a chick--turned into a BEAUTIFUL Americuana / Easter Egger (roo) -- hard to see his foot feathers in these photos and they were on the scarce side... he bred with our Brahma and also produced feathered footed, chipmunk striped babies... Here's a couple of photos of his growth and feather changes!

It looks like my cream legbars. And with the feathered feet, I'd say mixed with a maran. I raised them this year and some were black and others had chipmunk markings. They made beautiful olive eggers.

I was just ordering some pullets from Murrays and this little chick came up, looking very similar to yours. Rooster is below. This one is a Dorking. He doesnt have feathered legs and feet but yours more than likely is a mix. Actually I am going to order a few of these lovely birds.

I ordered from MM a year ago this month. My “free chick” looked very similar to yours and it was and EE, Roo. Same pea comb. Not all EE’s will look alike obviously. one thing you can almost always count on is, they didn’t send you a pullet. It’s their way of getting rid of extra cockerels.

Cute little chick!
