Well the saddled eggs can often hatch as you know. I have had such mixed results with shipped eggs, anywhere from 0% to 90% hatch rate. My lovely paint cockerel was the only one that hatched out of about 40 shipped eggs. Granted they did have to come all the way to Hawaii from Washington state. The breeder could not have packed the eggs better but every one of the eggs had either detached or saddled aircells when I got them.So my Greenfire Swedish Eggs are going well but the air cells are pretty well saddled on all of them. The other ones I ordered were Ayam Cemani x EE and only two were able to make it into the incubator. The. others were VERY detached despite 24 hours of sitting so I just filled up the Bator with FayoumiX eggs. Not the rooster I want to mix with the fayoumi but ill take what I can get. On day 3: Of the ACxEE, the air cell never settled in one so removed that and two fayoumi eggs that seemed infertile. Replaced those three with more fayoumi eggs. Everything else is developing well. The ACxEE egg that's left is very dark so its hard to tell what shape its in for now. Too bad but that's the risk with shipped eggs.
I’d definitely take saddled over detached. I know detached can still hatch but I’ll be leaving for a week during incubation and my bf won’t be available to turn upright. Maybe if ordering hatching eggs becomes any more of a compulsion I’ll have to buy a special incubator to hatch upright hahahaWell the saddled eggs can often hatch as you know. Hope you get some nice chicks out of your eggs!
I had bad air cells with my last lot too. Had two hatch out of 20 but one didn’t make it.I’d definitely take saddled over detached.
