February Hatch-A-Long

So out of the 5 shipped eggs I got only 1 hatched. The others never absorbed the yolk sac and died. Since there was a lonely chick, we went to Tsc, which now holds chicks and bought 4 straight run chicks so the one that did hatch wouldn’t be lonely. I feel like the shipping messed up the air cell toooo much, the one chick that did hatch ended up having a normal air sac which was good. Maybe I’ll stop ordering eggs for awhile and hatch out my own flocks eggs. I’ll post pictures when I get home.

Sorry, you didn't have better luck, and yeah you will almost always have better luck with your own or local area eggs.

Day 17-chicks are hatching. It's the earliest hatch I've had in 50 years. She is a serama.

The ones on the lower right look similar to what my black laced Wyandotte as a chick, but as for the others, sorry, not sure.

My New Year’s Eve chick has gotten so big I’m letting him get fresh air outside since for once Michigan has sunny weather, plus hes still inside which I know I have to get him outside soon I just need to come up with a little shelter idea,,, ugh I’m gonna miss my spoiled baby lol.
