I think it's going to be fun funding out what type of chickens I'm actually hatching. They will probably be mutts, but they should make good egg layers.

I only set 24 shipped eggs, my hens eggs were not fertile. I don't count the undeveloped eggs, so actually 22 viable eggs set, -2 for the day 3 death rings.

20 at the moment. day 5

I hadn't taken out the 2 death ring eggs, decided to wait until day 7 they are looking maybe just a 2 days behind but maybe still going... still have 22 in incubator.

No eggs for me this year, but i am buying 6 EE chicks this month!!! Soooo excited!!!

So, my neighbor who gave me the eggs, just has chickens for eggs. So she has Brauma, RIR, black and white speckled, and an all white chicken. I'm guessing the all white chicken is a leghorn . She did say the rooster is a RIR. No telling what I'll get guys, but if I get some pullets they should be pretty, and should be good layers. The hatchery isn't sending me my welsummer eggs till next month. I'm slowly rebuilding my welly flock, and I really hope to fortify the coop against predators better this time around. We have so many of them out here that I gave up for a long time. Maybe I need an armed guard

I looked and found out my incubator is a Hova 1588 for anybody who wants to know. I also popped in another silkie egg about 12 hours after the others. Don't blame me! It was the fingers, they moved out of my control

I am heating up eggs in a diff incubator still hoping for my chicken's eggs. If they are fertile they may be 5 days behind my shipped eggs, but at least they will go into the other incubator heated up. Only if they are fertile though.
