Do you have a suggestion for keeping them protected in the trays? If I don't pad them somehow they are just going to break.

also to add that my wadded up paper towel is between the eggs, just touching the sides lightly, so nothing is around them.

i'm on day 13 and i don't see any movement. haven't the whole hatch altho the baby keeps getting bigger so i'm not too worried about tht.. it just doesn't look as developed as it should be! if none of these guys hatch, my whole family's gonna be upset!

Just because you haven't saw any movement does not mean they are not good, as long as the egg is getting darker inside etc they should be fine! Do you have any pictures?

Candled! Some losses but they were shipped.... 4 out of 9 faverolles look good, 4 out of 9 wheaten marans look good and 9 out of 14 black/copper marans are moving around. I just set 9 little Icelandic eggs yesterday and I peeked at them too... I can see through them SO WELL candling them is going to be awesome!

I set 12 Swedish flower hen eggs on 2/11 in my home-made incubator. I am really tempted to candle them now.

A local lady I meet on BYC gave me some experiment eggs. She hasn't put her chickens in breeding pens yet so it's a toss up if I'm going to get pure bred of mix breed but she has blue Marans and black Jersey Giants . So I have 4 Giant eggs and 2 maran eggs. Hope they are pure bred also she gave me 4 blue EE Eggs and 2 olive egger eggs.
My chickens just started laying again but I put in 2 lakenvelder eggs, a naked neck egg, light brahma eggs and Giant eggs. Also a bunch of mystery eggs I think mostly NN. Possible roo: EE or Silkie
Hens: NN EE salmon fav, Phoenix, lakenvelder , LBrahma, DB, BLRW, GJ, Polish, silver speckled H, Black Cochin.
So we will see what we get I set 30 eggs....
