This one I can answer, No. Garter snakes aka Garden Snakes are NOT poisonous. So those I don't mind =)

Thanks! I think it’s venom works as an anti-coagulant (probably more to it then this).I was about to give my 2 cents about Venom in the circulatory system vs Venom in the Digestive system (like if you swallow snake venom) but then I realized I only know about Pit Vipers in the USA (copperheads, Rattlers, Cotton Mouth Water Moccasins) so I shall not comment on the snakes of OZ (that's Australia). Now I am all curious but to tired to look stuff up, hopefully I remember this in the morning so I can go look it up. Thats the whole reason why I posted because I will get alerts by morning and remember took up the type of Venom and Aussie brown snake has.
Snakes are meat, and meat is definitely something chickens eat since they are omnivores, just like us humans. Even a venomous snake is okay to eat. I once ate a Mohave Green rattle snake, the most venomous snake in North America, (fried in batter) and I lived to tell the tale. (No, snake does not taste like chicken. It tastes like snake.)
