All of my stock originated from reputable breeders and in some cases poultry judges. I don't mix my lines and if I need new blood I get the birds from the breeder and usually make arrangements to pick the birds up at a show. One male SCWL I got from a breeder when he was very young, got reserve champion at the last show.

Yours are much heavier than those coming from the 4-line system of big companies! And what a tail!
They are the champions when it comes to egg laying, but, please, let minorcas hold the prize of the egg-size.

This egg was from one of my Rhode Island Reds. It weighed 182 grams/6.42oz.

Our own local commercial hatchery just calls the white-egg layers they sell exactly that...white-egg layers as opposed to brown-egg layers to avoid any confusion with people thinking they're getting actual purebred Leghorns, the white variety. Also gives them the freedom to use whatever breed mixes they want without worrying about false advertising, I suppose...as long as the end results lay those white or brown eggs.

FYI, the industrial white Leghorns around the U.S and U.K are hybrids of white Leghorns and white Minorcas, which were first crossed in the UK.

No, these are not true statements.
White minorcas weren't created yet and this would reduce egg production.
Minorcas eat more, are much heavier and lay less.
Minorcas don't have yellow feet.

Hundreds of years ago and yellow is recessive. White plumage and yellow legs can be bred easily.
I still believe that Minorcas were involved in the original crossing.

If Leghorns weren't outbred then explain to me what a hybrid is. If they were always bred from Leghorn blood, then they would still be Leghorns and not hybrids.
