Hello all,
I am posting this here since I didn't really feel it was fitting in the emergency/injury/care forum, where those are generally... well.... emergencies.
Now that our layer flock is expanding and we are starting to raise meaties (and turkeys as well next year), it's only fitting that we start putting together our flock's first aid kit. What I would like to know is what you all would suggest having on hand to deal with any chick or hen emergencies. We have a couple of local feed stores that are well stocked, but let's face it- if there's a problem, it's usually going to happen on a Sunday or right at 5:00 on a weekday. I would like to slowly buy supplies that would be pretty general for injuries and illnesses. This can be from the specialized item (antibiotics, vitamins, etc.) to the basic care item (cotton balls, Pedialyte, etc.).
So.... what's in your kit?
Thank you!
-Charlie
