First egg! But a little blood?

When my young quail hens first started to lay their eggs, they had a little blood on them for the first 2-3 days before coming out cleanly, so I imagine it is normal for other egg laying birds also to have a little blood or poop on the eggs at first until their bodies are used to laying them.
