First Free Range experience

I let my girls have their first supervised free range time. I believe they found some bugs at the base of this pine tree. There was a lot of scratching and pecking. They enjoyed roaming. All the pine straw is in disarray around the base of the nearby pines.

My girls love free ranging. Thankfully, our Beagle does not bother them. I think she wonders what they find good in the grass.

I am keeping my girls in the run until 4 pm. I am trying to acclimate them to using the nesting boxes. Today was my first 5 egg day. I have 9 chickens. Then I let them free range. They are super anxious to get out there and find the goodies
