Hi!
Very excited! I got 5 little babes in the mail today and if that wasn't enough my hubby heard one of the girls squawking and I checked on her and she was in the corner of the coop and when I looked there was the cutest little brown egg..

Charlotte is 1 day shy of 16 weeks and she is an Amberlink..now the strange thing is she ws hunkered down there and didn't want to move and one of the fellas was next to her kind of watching her..so I lifted her out no problem and they went out..but they both kept trying to go back in

Also, she kept trying to throw feathers on her backside? and around where she was laying..I shooed her out again, but they both returned..

I have 5 nice clean nest boxes in there I know that it might take some getting used to them using them..but what is this behavior and how do I stop it?

But on a good note that little egg was so good!

I think the feather thing and trying to run back in when you remove them IS a broodiness sign. Congrats on your egg though! Just got my first last week and she has laid a perfect brown egg everyday since.
