Hi All!

One of my hens (Travis - long story but yes she’s a hen) went broody this week so I got 7 BYM fertilized eggs, from a local lady with a mixed flock, to give Travis a shot at hatching and raising some chicks!

Excited to see what happens! Numbered them off so we can tell if anyone else tries to slip another egg in there.

Here’s the clutch and Travis sitting pretty on them!

Lovely eggs! I have a broody doing a hatch as well at the moment 😊

I candled on day 8 and here are the photos would love any feedback. Numbered to match numbers in previous posts.

In general it was hard to see with the darker shells but also the veining seemed less obvious then when I have hatched in the incubator before.

My plan is to just leave them all under Travis and see what happens now 🤞

Be sure to give them the sniff test, you don't want an exploding rotten egg under your broody.
