We have a pond with catfish, bluegill, crappie, bream. Unfortunately, it does not hold water in dry weather. Our daughter and son in law enjoy fishing and have brought fish home to stock the pond. We saved about 70 fish by buying an inexpensive 15 ft. Swimming pool. We netted all we could and put them in the "blue pond." We had to get a fountain to keep the water oxygenated. THEN we got a lot of rain and the pond is full again. We had "fun" draining the pool enough to net the fish and put them in a more natural habitat. Now we are looking at that pool and thinking aquatic plants and who knows what kind of fish. We will see.

Im going to try a tank once more if it ends up the same way and cracked again. I may just wait awhile.

I wanted to do some scarlet badis( or dwarf gouramis), celestial/galaxy rasboras, and kuhli loaches. I thibk with the badis they would be enough color and movement for the tank alone. But im not sure where id get them locally as ive never seen them in stores.

My biggest question is do i need a substrate in the bottom of my tank? i have a feeling thats where the worms came from so i wouldnt be using that again.
Id just attach the plants to decorations.

I just got a 10 gal tank came with pretty much everything except a filter. All of it was 20$!!!!!!!!!!! It came with 2 nets,a water heater,
3 different colors of gravel, 1 fish bowl, 1 small carrier,a temp gauge, and of course the actual tank
Also the tank had a lid
