We're going to get our drinking/ well water tested, it's possible we've had some canaries in the coal mine, you know? I did some research and found that yes, runoff from farm fields can contaminate a well with copper; there's copper in the pesticides and whatever else the farmers use on the fields. And I saw the farmer out spraying our field....with something... a few weeks ago. That would account for why the copper level has gotten so high, maybe. We've had so much rain and flooding, you can bet there's a lot of runoff, where there normally wouldn't be. High copper in the water can be, and usually is, from pipes in the house,, and most of the time you can get rid of it by just running the water for a few minutes first, which I haven't been doing til now. We have a finished basement, and the fish tank is in the basement, so now the bathroom down there where I get the water for the tank, doesnt get as much use as it did at one time when we had all our children living at home.
GH, no, we don't have city water, we have well water.
BG the old fancy goldfish was up and swimming this morning, though she still looks a little off, there's a definite improvement over the past few days. We're gonna continue with the treatment and water changes for the next few weeks, then re-test the water and decide where we're going from there.
