This is what I'm hoping to get, either they're hard to get or they looked sickly. So I never try to risk my current babies! I almost got one, a baby, but for 20$ I'm like: NOPE! Plus he didn't look the healthiest.... :/
I gonna hopefully get one tomorrow, I found a place that has them for less than the other fish store. A panda oranda!View attachment 2767845
They’re so cute OMG

Talk about saving fish! Except for a couple shubunkins and fantails, most of my fish are feeders. The tiny one on the lower left is from this year; the others must be at least 6 years old. They still mate out there, but the fry don't seem to live long enough for us to find them. I think the pond is too clean. We added some artificial plants to try to give them places to lay eggs and for babies to hide, but none so far.

There are also 2 small eels rescued from the Asian supermarket in there, and a golden one.
How awesome! :) Eels?! :O Wow!

I love fish, and pictures! Although I've given up on keeping them for myself:(. I always end up killing them, so I've decided that I shouldn't be keeping them anymore. I despise fish bowls, too! NO FISH CAN EVER LIVE IN THOSE! Poor bettas (who I think should have at least 2.5 gallons, 5 for the shorter finned types like plakats) and goldfish(who would much rather grow a foot long than have their organs grow too big for a stunted body).

I have to look into that. We used to have nice, stringy algae that they used, so we always had babies. But these days, the ponds cleaner, probably due to the child wanting to see lots and lots of fountains, waterfalls, etc.
