My problem is the Quail eggs Hatch 3 days after chicken eggs. So if I turn the humidity up for the chickens I drown the quail! From what I've heard from others, the Hovabator brand of incubators are liked.
I hatch in my incubator (home made), so I do it a bit differently.

no comment. How do I build a Hatcher. The cheaper Hova Bator at my local feed store is less then 50 bucks.
I had button quail...but their eggs lost a fair amount. I can't say for sure...but maybe they would be ok? Mine were shrink wrapped so they didn't get enough humidity. My problem is the Quail eggs Hatch 3 days after chicken eggs. So if I turn the humidity up for the chickens I drown the quail!

I have good news 20 chicken eggs out of 21 defiantly have life. The one Im not sure about is dark and has a large dark area were it should be so maybe I have 100% live chicken eggs.on day 10. Air sacks seem ok.I also have 38 Quail eggs in the same incubator. I only held light to a few of them and but it looks the same. I guess Im going to buy a second cheaper Hova bator to use as a hatcher.
Any suggestions on this plan?
I occasionally use a cheap styro as a hatcher too, so its a viable option. Just if you get one, run it for a while first, with good meters, tested for accuracy. Do not trust the unit!!
otherwise you could hold off upping the humidity a day or so, till the chicken eggs start drawing down or internally pipping, and it shouldn't hurt either group.
