Flies..

Are these regular house flies or blk flies? I use the fly traps also outside of their houses hang high out of their reach change monthly

For them can you get Poultry protector its a safe product that can be sprayed on them if these are the biting flies.

Yes, i think so... I can try to get a pic later.

I've heard about vanilla repelling flies. Maybe you could 'mist' them with a little vanilla extract mixed with water...... Then I'd check out predatory wasps - they don't sting and they attack the fly larva. We live in Shenandoah Valley which is plagued with flies due to all the livestock. We put out the predatory wasps this year and haven't had any issues with flies. https://www.spalding-labs.com/produ...ly_control_for_backyard_chickens/default.aspx
I've heard vanilla too, just wasn't sure.

This is what I use:

Gnats??

I'm having No See Um issues in northeast Florida. No See Ums go by all sorts of names, but are extremely tiny flies that bite and like open sources of water. They're little devils. My No See Ums were all over the inside and outside of my coop. There seem to be thousands of them.
Last night I put a Black Flag Bug Zapper in the coop.
I also smashed a bunch with a t-shirt.
This morning, most all were gone. The Black Flag Bug Zapper is working nicely. I was able to shake lots of dead No See Ums out of it this morning. The bug zapper will kill more than just No See Ums.
I also just installed a small fan in the overhead of my coop to blow these little devils out.

So far, the idea from Trux has worked the best for me. Those plastic bags
(with attractant inside) that you fill with water and hang--they work so great! BTW, when they get full, I empty them into my garden, and "stir" them into the dirt with a shovel. Sure, it's gross, but hey........
