Sadly a predator of some sort got to my duck sometime between 1 and 630am. He was in a makeshift enclosure (we found him in our yard) and the top of it had been removed (large metal grate). He was about 8 feet away in the corner.

While he had blood on his face he was fairly intact except for his bottom. Whatever it was went through the bottom and pulled out the stomach contents.
Something else I noticed was that when I went out around 1am before bed there were rats in each of the two traps I set out in the yard. This morning when I found the duck one rat had been removed from the trap and the other trap, along with the giant male roof rat, was gone.
We live in Tampa Bay Florida by a large creek that opens up into a lake. The backyard is wood fenced and the flood lights and the two solar stakes I put by his enclosure were on.
Any ideas on what might have done this? I'm seeing a lot of similar situations but have yet to find one that's similar to how the predator went into the ducks body.
Thanks in advance!
