FLORIDA Swap/Sales & Events Chat thread ***UPDATES***...

We had a great swap out at Shadowhills Farm and ConchRepublics yesterday. Beautiful day and a good turn out of people. It was a nice sunny day and I think that a lot more birds could have changed hands. Lots of new faces and we were giving out information right and left about the swaps and possible upcoming events. I think these will just keep getting bigger. There were quite a few people who showed up after most of us went home. I think we need to stress for people to show up early for these swaps. Is anybody interested in one for April? I know there is one in May at cmom's and one in June at sillystunts and depending on when Maxx is done with baseball we will be having one towards the end of June or first part of July.

I agree with Eric, The swaps are having more and more people everytime. There is always a good turnout. We need to start recruiting people lol

If anyone is interested in hosting a Swap, it's never too early to start planning. My Jan. swap, I started planning 6 months beforehand. My May 15th swap, I started planning 4 months beforehand. It will be interesting to compare the turnouts. If you would like to host a swap, post here or in the UPCOMING FLORIDA Swaps/Sales/Shows/Events thread.

I spoke with two different feed stores near Ocala that would like to host some swap meets. One feed store wants to have one every other month on a Saturday, and the other would like to have one once a month on a Saturday. Now we just have to co-ordinate them so they won't conflict with each other and set some dates. One of the stores the swap will be sponsored by Purina Feed. There will be raffles and give aways. We are open for suggestions on the dates. The feed store with Purina would like to have the first swap around the end of April or first of May. The other feed store has no preference just that it's on a Saturday.

the swap at Suwannee Hardware & Feed in White springs does a raffle and has giveaways as well I dont think alot of people know this. His swap is the third saturday of each month he tries new things each month It is a swap worth going to.

I would sure like to host a swap but it looks like all the dates are booked! Unfortunately, those currently booked look like there isn't any close enough to me to realistically make any of them.

I know what you mean High Roost they are all over 2 hours from me as well. Go ahead and host your own there are alot of people down your way that cant make these swaps. Thats what we are doing up here trying to come up with a date and place. If its on the same day as anothe swap you will find people to come to both. lol

I have driven a little over an hour to the 2 that I have gone to. I don't mind driving. It's not just about swapping birds and buying supplies. I enjoy getting to know everyone more! I may not have anything to sell next time but I'll be there!!

BTW...Some people drive 2 or 3 hours to get to these swaps! Love it!!
