Florida welfare drug testing

The word "No" sure goes along way with regards to birth control. If a woman knows the guy has a past history of that (fathering and rolling out) and still has sex with him then she is every bit as much to blame as the guy in the equation

Personal responsibilty is dead in this country...blame game rules the day.

Now this, though another violation of civil rights, would interests me....but only if it were the fathers of the children who were sterilized. After all, they are the ones not fulfilling their monetary obligations to these children, causing them to be living in a single income household, thus requiring assistance. Some of these men have fathered many children on welfare, whereas one woman on welfare usually would have mothered only a handful of children.

My ex-husband has fathered over 9 children, with 5 different women, and still counting, and has provided for none of these financially....definitely should be required sterilization there!

the suggestion alone makes me nervous.

I know people who have used welfare as a stepping stone to get back on their feet, and to suggest that anyone who was unlucky enough to fall on hard times and seek assistance must be sterilized smacks of eugenics. part of the early american eugenics movement involved sterilizing the poor and uneducated because it was believed their defective genes made them poor and uneducated, not a corrupt system and poor opportunities.

Blame game does go a long way. Two kids got caught in the bathroom and when her parents found out she cried rape. Went to court and the guy got off free cause the girls story made no sense and she just didn't want to get in trouble.

I have read all of the posts and you all seem to be under the impression that the government is paying for these drug tests. They are not The person applying for welfare has t pay the 30.00 fee. If it comes back negative they are reimbursed. In a state where many of the food stamps are being used to buy drugs this is another attempt to crack down on the drug abuse. I agree with this law Do I think it will work No these crooks know how to play the system and dont let anyone tell you different. Thats how they can get over 1,200 a month worth of food stamps and you see big heathy 17-18 year old helping "Mom" put the groceries into their escalade or cadilac suv. Wish I could afford those car payments but then again if I were getting that much in foodstamps maybe I could.
Do I think she can afford to pay 30.00 for a drug test You bet I do.

what about the people who really need the help and don't have 30 dollars? seriously, if you can't afford to buy food, which 30 dollars will get you lots of beans, noodles and flour, then ho can you afford to pay a fee.

even if they get reinbursed, if they don't have the money in the first place how can they get help?

I really think if folks were faced with actual starvation they would find work to feed themselves or steal and go to jail (which I see no difference from the support aspect as both are provided by the working class) of course someone will say "Oh the but the children" well they really are not supporting them anyhow and maybe taking them away would be an incentive to work to get them back as if they really wanted them back, it may break the welfare generation also. Since I am supporting them then I look at it as the rules in my home you don't like them there is the door if they support themselves then they can make their own rules but under my roof ,so to speak you do it my way or no support. The only proven way to break the welfare generation is to stop doing it really, get off of it by self determination and for certain folks to quit telling them them they cannot make it without it it really is not helping them. It is a sly back door tactic by the liberal left that keeps the poor poor and dependant on big government. If you are able to work and really want to you can get a job in this country, it may not be the one you want but a job nevertheless. Low pay is a excellent motivator for a better job once you are past the idea that you will have to work.

you have no clue. you really don't.
this post is so illogical and biased and ...

it just boggles my mind.

Don't see how it is illogical and biased but it does sound as if it might work. I know people who don't have jobs but when someone says they have work for them they deny cause they don't like it.

As I said before this does not apply for food stamps THis law requires people who receive money in addition to food stamps There are alot of people who receive this emergency cash as they call it. It comes on a debit card and they can use it for anything. And yes as I said when I see some of the people here in florida getting so much money for foodstamps it does bother me. My daughter knew a lady who was getting over 1,000.00 a month she was claiming children who only lived part time with her. I once told her that a local store had hamburger on sale. She had the nerve to say to me "Well since we get over 1,000.00 a month for food I try to buy the best meats I can.
Way I see it if I can eat hamburger than so can she.
