These chickens were originally produced by—and received from—Hoover’s Hatchery! We have had no health concerns within the flock since we’ve had them. They’re intelligent, curious, and accustomed to human interaction; many are also used to being handled and will happily engage with us. They are well-loved birds and are a joy to have on our farm.

They have been fed medicated chick starter since their arrival. They have over 6,800 square feet to forage in with plenty of grasshoppers, crickets, and other insects to enjoy. Fresh water is available 24/7 and replaced 4+ times a day; multiple pools and ice packs are offered as extra cooling options.

They were brooded indoors and have been pasture raised since 5 ½ weeks of age. We use mobile chicken tractors within secured fencing, and they are moved together throughout the property. Automatic doors provide outdoor access from sunrise to nightfall.

Egg production varies by breed. The average production rate of the breeds we have available is between 200-325 eggs per bird per year. Our previous flocks that we have raised in this manner consistently produce beautiful, delicious eggs.

Local pickup in Sanger by appointment only! You must bring an appropriate carrier for transportation. $25 per pullet (female), $10 per cockerel (male). Cash, Apple Cash, Venmo, and Zelle are accepted—no checks.
