Found a butchering video- Method I am going to use

Shooting anything in a residential area or within in so many feet of someone else's house is against the law. I checked. A stray dog kept coming on our property. If someone heard it and reported it, I'd be in big trouble.
Same here you can't shoot a gun in city limits, but this is a pellet gun so not under the same rules as a real gun. I shoot the chickens in my garage anyway so no chance of stray pellets hitting anyone.

Is it loud? Could someone mistake it for a real gunshot and call authorities and then you'd have to explain it all?

My garage is attatched to my house just on the other side of a sheet rock wall from my living room, and when I shoot the gun in the garage my husband doesn't hear it in the house, so no.

Besides I live in the Southern US nearly EVERYONE has real guns. I only have the pellet gun, but I am the exception.

My neighbor does target practice into a dirt bank. With his hunting guns! SO no one will say anything about a pellet gun. I am not very educated in guns by pellet gun do you mean a BBgun? We have a BBgun that you hand pump 10 times then fire. Would it work? Do you have the gun pointed and the back of the head angled down toward the beak?

Yes on the aim question. The velocity is really important do you know what that is w/ 10 pumps?

I was not sure...my husband said what you have is ALOT stronger so I guess I need to price it out and see how much one exactly like your gun costs. Sounds easier than cutting the throat mentality for me so it might be worth it if it gets me raising my own meat. Thank You for the info I appreciate it!

Our gun was bought at Walmart for around $100. It is the one that has both size barrels (.22 and .17)

Thank You! That isn't bad at all. I actually expected it would cost more. I think I would be the most comfortable doing it that way. Slitting the throat ...while I think I could do it...it seems so personal. Which is probably the biggest reason I did not cull my 2 eggbound hens that way. Wish I would have had the gun then. Thanks so much for your info It was very helpful!
