Found out what happens when you mix a bobwhite tux mutt with a Tibetan

I don't see how I can back it up, is all. I've answered all the questions I was asked, every answer of which has been doubted. I'm basically being called a liar at worst and misled at best. *I* didn't breed Bumbles. I know how her parents were kept, I know what I was told, and I know she's different than my other Coturnix. I have no reason to disbelieve it. I see no profit in the breeder lying to me, and her actions seem to back up her claim. When I bred other animals, I never ever would have started crowing "HYBRID!!" without making sure the new line wasn't a bunch of sports. I'd make sure it bred true and make sure everything was documented to a fare-thee-well before publishing. The facts I know fit what I was told.

The post was in direct response to a conversation between Monarc23 and I on another thread. I commented that Bumbles had just laid her first egg and that I was super excited to see if it hatched, and if it hatched, what the chick would look like.

Until y'all started going ape about my little mutt, you have to realize I thought of her as a sport. I know the breeder bred them deliberately, but since not even she knew if the chicks would ever reproduce, I really had no clue until the egg hatched that Bumbles wasn't a sport. I have her paired with the Tibetan mostly to keep him from crowing and to test for fertility.

*shrug* Bumbles, to me, resembles both her parents. She acts like a bob. Her colour pattern is different than a normal Tux. Her body shape is different. Her calls are different. Her walk is different.

Like I said, I'll try to get pictures later. I still think if you could see the bird, you'd understand why I don't disbelieve the claim.

I think you've been told porkies. Bumbles is just a regular tuxedo (range/tibetan whatever you want to call it plus white). Nothing unusual about the face/beak shape that would even suggest there's bobwhite in there.

All you've done is cross tux x range which will give tuxes and ranges. There's the possibility of normals and maybe goldens if the bird is heterozygous (range masks golden). When you have big white eyebrows and white belly they're tux.
