Fox, coyote or chupacabra?

Looks to me like one of those dangerous little "Peligros". Not uncommon for Chupacabras to get confused with those nasty little critters.

The "Peligro" is a vicious little critter found mostly in the Southwestern US and Texas. They can attack a human, dog, cat, chicken... they are like a cross between a wolverine, weasel and miniature Mexican wolf all wrapped into one extremely scary, terrorist little animal.

I'm certain most of you have never heard of them but those of us in the southwest, southern California and Texas have. In fact, if you drive many roads out in the rural desert areas out here you will see signs all over in big red letters that say "Danger - Peligro".

Yup... vicious little critters that can eat right through that hardware cloth, and tear the head off of a roo...

Long legged, striped tail, My $money$ is on it being a Coati Mundi, the desert relative of the coon. They have migrated to the woods of Arkansas, so why not other places? Within the last 20 years, Arkansas has had Armadillos, African Cattle Egrets, Coati Mundi, Pelicans, Nutria,& no telling what else migrate from elsewhere, mainly desert climates.

I too, here in New Mexico, have had much trouble with those nasty Peligro critters.

Thanks for the link for "Good things to come."

Coati mondi's have much longer tails and they are ringed you would be able to see the rings even in a night shot .

I am not saying they are not there as you stated but the trail cam photo is of a fox, IMO

We have animals that are usually not here that are coming in now, we are not sure why. The broad shouldered hawk migrated right over my farm by the 1000's they are 100 miles off course according to bird watchers.

But this was a scary incident with all my flocks hiding where ever they could making ungodly rackett till they were gone.[

Sorry, don't see a fox. I see a ringed tail. There are no foxes with a ringed tail. $$ still on Coati Mundi
