Framing wall problem....too tight of a fit

When you use a bbig hammer to plumb it up, something will move and probably not the concrete floor. The joist will give.
What he did was smack the joists in the opposite direction the wall needed to move toward, and then he whacked the wall and it moved very easy. I would be afraid to hammer on the joists like he did, though.

My daughter, a carpenter, calls that 'bending'.
Glad you found some experienced help.....it can take a long time to learn tricks like that.
 
Better to pay him help and teach you than just paying him to build it.

It's frustrating though..it looked simple and the wall was simple to build. I knew that I needed to leave some space at the top but still I had problems. He is finishing the short wall tomorrow so that I can copy what he is doing. I can't wait for my chickens to have a large inside area to hang in when I am not home. It's been a long time coming.
