Free mystery Chick from Murray McMurray

They send them automatically with the order. I think you can deselect if you don't want one though

Our last was an american game, and he has made a great roo. He came with some white orpingtons, and the white roo did battle with a 4 legged neighbor and lost. So we kept the american game roo. He's been very protective of his 10 hens, and is a bit on the aggressive side. We incubated some eggs from the cross, They came out mostly black, but one, is black with white 'pepper' spots throughout. They are currently 6 weeks old, and going to their own pen.

We have some Cornish hens, and look to mate a rooster from that batch (American Game x White Orpington) with the Cornish hens, for our own cornish cross experiment. Just starting to experiment with breeding.

My free exotic blue cochin sprouted himself some wattles in the last few days

Cochin females also have wattles, not as large nor as defined as the males, but still have them. Give it time.

This must be their year for Blue Cochin freebees, I got one with my last order also. Hope it is a girl, at least it is not crowing yet.

I think you must be right!!! lol In the past I've always just gotten one more of whatever I've been ordering rather than something that's actually "rare" or "exotic" but this year I had one order from McMurray and there's a blue cochin in there! lol They're about 7 or 8 weeks old and the wattles are already pretty big and pendulous, so I'm fairly certain it's a boy, but it's comb isn't as big as the other single comb breed boys in the mix, and it's sort of blackish rather than getting red. Fairly certain it's a boy... ;)
