Hi,
Those chicken livers look delicious! I'm the only one in the family that eats them and I am really into food being "plain" (not much seasoning, just the natural flavor of the meat, vegetables, or whatever) and I just rinse my chicken livers with cold water and coat them in plain flour and fry in some butter. I add a little salt when I eat them, that's all.
I've never had chicken livers from home-grown chickens and I bet they are great but I guess I have to settle for ones from the store as I don't plan on getting any meat birds.
Thanks for the great pictures, they're making me hungry!

P.S. My mom used to make a great dish from the gizzards. She simmered them in chicken broth (for a very long time so they got tender) with some celery and onion. She thickened it with corn starch and added a lot of fresh chopped parsley at the end of the cooking. Then she served the gizzards over rice. I haven't had this in years, but I do remember it as being yummy!
We never did anything with the hearts that I can remember. The feet were great cooked in soup. We used to fight over them! Only two to a chicken so there wasn't much to go around!
BTW, my mom is from Germany so we never threw anything out when I was growing up. She is with us today but I do all the cooking now.
