I have 3 things I would like to talk/ask about.
1. Wing sexing. I've noticed that the two sexlinked cockerels have very different wings from the others. Their wings are short, with primary feathers being a bit longer. The others have bigger, even wings. Being able to sex them by wings would be very useful. I'm aware this is something only certain breeds/crosses have and has to be bred for, so I don't know where it would've come from in these chicks, considering neither silkies or brahmas can be wing sexed. If it does turn out to work then would it be possible to keep this trait in the breed?
2. Vulture hawks. I've recently found out what these are. They seem to be fault in a lot of breeds. I find them to be really pretty though. Zombie, the mother of Oakley, has vulture hawks, so I hope they'll appear in this breed as well.
3. Penciling on roosters. I have seen lacing on roosters, but not penciling. Think of the dark brahma for example. Hens are pencilled while roosters have a plain black chest. That makes me wonder if there will be a difference in hens and roosters in these chicks. Could feather color be a way to determine their gender once they start to feather out? Can roosters be pencilled at all?
