Fugly Farm

I've been doing the same, refilling milk jugs to take out and making chunks of ice in the freezer.

I heard the same weather in info on ABC, that this is the hottest summer on record. It's just unrelenting and we're not getting enough storms either. My water bill is through the roof and I'm afraid of my next electric bill.

I know what you mean. I hope that we get some relief soon.

I know that you are all over many thread's here, but that one doesn't have many pages to it yet, and I didn't notice that you had been there. :gig

That's me, just all over the place. When Sumi did the chicken breed focus threads I almost always popped in on them, they were so interesting to read. It's nice to know that something she spent so much time on is still going on even today.

I agree! I check them out quite a bit even though I don't comment. I just like to learn different things.

Well, the storm came through here, and brought the rain with it this time. They said that the temp. was 130-F. over there in Death Valley this past weekend.

Wow, that's crazy hot!

Are things gearing up for your monsoon season?

Hence the name Death Valley I suppose. I just can't imagine. No rain here, just wind and lightening.

It was supposed to be here already. The storms were usually frequent from late June through August but we aren't getting anything much more than enough drops to make mud on the windshield after the dust blows through. We get less frequent storms but they're often more severe.

Last night I was channel surfing and came across a National Geographic show about the Grand Canyon, it was a good show. I visited there several times as a kid and then DH saw it for the first time when we went in 2017. One of the topics the show covered was the weather, it was really interesting to see the drastic changes that happen over a year's time.

I hope the monsoon has finally kicked in by me. Like @igorsMistress said above, before last night it only sprinkled here enough to make a little mud on the windshield.

All of the animals here and next door were ok this morning. The humidity feel's higher out there. A few smaller branches down off of the trees, but not too bad.

It's breathtaking for sure. They get a much better variety up there than we do down here. Not really much to indicate the change in season visually in the Valley of the Sun.

Even if it doesn't rain over here we get some of the cooling from the wind. I'll take what I can get.
